In all the excitement of the coming season we would like to mark the passing of a legend from Formula Three paddocks. Stewart Racing, formerly Paul Stewart Racing, have long been associated with this category and wherever they have raced they have always set the standard for professionalism, commitment and outright pace.

While the team have been re-branded as Jaguar and will no doubt go one to more championship success, the team principle Jackie Stewart will no longer be a feature of our weekend's racing. Mr Stewart's dedication to the sport does not need our seal of approval. But during this period of change for motor racing in the UK it has been reassuring to see the legendary Scot, resplendent in Stewart tartan, out and about supporting Formula Three.

While many team bosses might choose to be a long way away on a rare weekend off from the demands of Formula One. Last season on a cold and damp Sunday morning at Croft in North Yorkshire you could find Mr Stewart appearing out of the gloom, busy before the race, ensuring his team was ready to compete at the highest level. His presence will be sadly missed as the standards he set for professionalism within the sport have become the bedrock of the modern era.

We would like to thank Mr Stewart for his commitment to what is the purest form of motor racing in the World, Formula Three, and to wish him and his family the very best in future.
